Porsche 911 Carrera Convertible Rental in Miami — Black Edition

Home » Porsche Rentals in Miami » Porsche 911 Carrera Convertible Rental in Miami

The Porsche 911 Cabriolet is one of the few convertibles that’s genuinely a driver’s car first and a top-down cruiser second. Ours is the 991-generation Carrera in the factory Black Edition — Jet Black exterior, black leather interior, blacked-out badging, and the Turbo-design 20-inch wheels. It’s the Porsche you rent when Ocean Drive, A1A, and the causeways matter more than being seen at the valet. Available for daily rental from $599 per day, delivered to your Miami hotel, residence, or MIA airport.

About the Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet Black Edition

This is the 991-generation Carrera Cabriolet — the base 911 in convertible body style, in Porsche’s factory Black Edition trim. The Black Edition is a specific option package Porsche offered that includes Jet Black metallic paint, black leather interior with contrast stitching, blacked-out exterior badging, and Black Edition sill plates. It’s a coordinated black-on-black spec that photographs distinctly and translates well to Miami’s beach-city aesthetic — subtle enough for a business dinner in Brickell, striking enough for a rooftop pool at the Setai.

Mechanically it’s still very much a 911. The 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six delivers 370 horsepower to the rear wheels through a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, with 0-60 arriving in about 4.4 seconds. Top speed is 179 mph with the roof down (electronically limited). The soft-top folds fully in 13 seconds at speeds up to 30 mph — meaning you can drop the roof at a stoplight and be top-down before the light turns green. The chassis balance that made the 991 generation a critical favorite is intact: sharp turn-in, communicative steering, and a rear-engine layout that rewards a driver who understands what to do with it.

What makes this car particularly right for Miami is what a convertible unlocks. Ocean Drive at sunset feels completely different with the roof down. Rickenbacker Causeway at sunrise becomes an experience rather than a commute. The A1A drive up to Fort Lauderdale or Palm Beach is worth the miles specifically because you’re doing it in a 911 Cabriolet. Coupe 911s are excellent cars, but for a Miami rental, the drop-top is almost always the right choice.

Perfect For

  • Miami convertible weather — the reason to rent a drop-top in Miami is that you can actually use it 300+ days a year; the 911 Cabriolet is what a serious driver picks over an SL or Bentley Continental convertible
  • Ocean Drive sunset cruises — this is the archetypal Miami convertible experience, and a 911 delivers it with proper sports car character rather than boulevard cruiser softness
  • Rickenbacker Causeway and A1A drives — the 911’s chassis rewards these open roads in a way SUVs and sedans never can
  • Business travelers who also want a fun weekend — the 911 is professional enough for a Brickell dinner and quick enough to enjoy on the weekend routes
  • Couples visiting Miami — proper 2+2 seating (rear seats fit small children or extra luggage), practical enough for a weekend, exciting enough to remember
  • Entry-point Porsche experience — for buyers who want to try a 911 before buying one, the base Carrera Cabriolet at $599/day is the accessible way in
  • Photography and content creation — the black-on-black spec against Miami’s white Art Deco backdrop, palm trees, and turquoise water photographs exceptionally well

Frequently Asked Questions

What generation is your Porsche 911 Cabriolet?

Our 911 Carrera Cabriolet is the 991-generation, specifically the 991.2 facelift (2016-2019 model years) with the 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six. This is the generation that introduced turbocharging to the base Carrera line while retaining the 911’s chassis balance and driving character. The Black Edition trim adds coordinated blacked-out styling.

How does the 911 Cabriolet compare to a coupe?

Mechanically nearly identical — same engine, same transmission, same suspension. The Cabriolet is fractionally heavier due to chassis reinforcement and adds a soft-top mechanism. The trade-off is a small performance penalty (about 0.1 second slower to 60 mph) for the option to drive top-down. For a Miami rental where convertible weather is available year-round, the Cabriolet is the better choice for most renters. If you want the coupe version, we also offer our other Porsche 911 rental.

Can I drive the Porsche 911 Convertible to the Florida Keys or Palm Beach?

Yes. Cross-state trips within Florida are welcome. Our standard rental includes 100 miles per day; additional miles beyond that are billed at $2/mile. The 911 is exceptionally comfortable on longer drives — the ride is well-damped, the PDK transmission handles highway cruising smoothly, and the convertible top makes A1A and the Overseas Highway to the Keys genuinely memorable experiences rather than just transit.

What color is your Porsche 911 Convertible?

Our 911 Carrera Cabriolet is finished in Jet Black Metallic — Porsche’s factory black paint with subtle blue-purple depth in direct sunlight. The Black Edition trim includes blacked-out badges, black leather interior with contrast stitching, and Black Edition sill plates. The soft-top is also black. Photos on this page show the actual vehicle you’ll receive at delivery, shot on a Miami Beach rooftop.

Is the Porsche 911 Cabriolet a good choice for two people or four?

Best for two people traveling together. The 911 has 2+2 seating — technically four seats — but the rear seats are small and only really suitable for children or extra luggage. Two adults fit comfortably in the front with the rear seats folded down for luggage. If you’re traveling with four adults or need real backseat space, consider our Bentley Bentayga or Audi Q8 instead.

What’s the minimum age to rent the Porsche 911?

Renters must be at least 25 years old, hold a valid driver’s license (any country accepted), and carry personal auto insurance with full coverage. A refundable security deposit is held at pickup. As a high-performance sports car, the 911 requires the higher age minimum for insurance reasons.

How does the 911 Cabriolet compare to other convertibles in your fleet?

Different characters entirely. The 911 is a driver’s sports car with rear-engine layout and precise handling. Our Audi A5 Convertible is a more relaxed grand touring convertible at a lower price point. Our Rolls-Royce Dawn is a luxury cruiser convertible focused on refinement and rear-seat comfort rather than driving dynamics. Choose the 911 for the driving; choose the Dawn for the luxury; choose the A5 for value.
